Industrial participation has so far been considerable, but the coverage of opinion within the field needs to be extended on a broader basis than has so far been possible. First, a further in-depth survey should be made of the requirements of industrial developers and users. Second, a survey of resources and needs in Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States formerly in the Soviet Union is required. Equally important is coverage of results of Fourth Framework Programme projects.
