TGA was designed to handle single TextGrid files for long utterances, such as stories, with intermediate pauses, which are handled separately from each other.
Mini-TGA is designed to handle multiple TextGrid in a ZIP file, which is uploaded to your browser.
Mini-TGA does not distinguish between intermediate pauses and other text components of the annotation, and is therefore more suitable for fluent shorter utterances. (A version which does this is being planned.)
The initial and final segments of the TextGrid tiers are assumed to be silences or unwanted noise, and are not used in the analysis.
Operation: the ZIP file is selected and uploaded, the tiernames are extracted and can be selected from a set of tiername buttons; then the process button is clicked.
The output is a figure with minimal statistics about durations in the TextGrid files, a figure plotting pairs of neighbouring durations, and a table with more comprehensive descriptive statistics for the durations. The figures are currently in SVG format and can be downloaded.
Preparation: This application requires TextGrid files to be in a ZIP file for uploading to your browser.
