Explore speech prosody

ProsCanvas provides a practical environment for experimenting with prosody measurements and examining acoustic speech signals.

• Explore the rhythms and melodies of speech through visualizations and acoustic measurements.
• Adjust measurement parameters and apply them to WAV speech files individually or in batches.
• Use recordings of at least two seconds—preferably longer—to capture intonation and accentuation rather than only word structure.
• Compare batch-processing results with linear regression, k-means clustering, and linear Support Vector Machine classification.

ProsCanvas is an exploratory tool intended for testing ideas and discovering insights about prosody.

For confirmatory work, consider established applications such as Praat, Prosody Pro, ProZed, Prosogram, or WinPitch, as well as scripting in R, MATLAB, or Python.
